StringCan Welcomes Our New Account Manager – Kelly Rix

Our Digital Scientists are made up of tech-loving, results-oriented, passionate, digital marketing nerds who have an unnatural obsession with all things digital. Most likely seen glued to a screen and spewing new digital marketing trends.

Background: Tell us a little about yourself! Where are you from and what’s your story?

An Italian, a music lover and a Digital Account Manager walk into a bar….oh wait that’s just all three of my alternate personalities ba-dum-ch! Sorry I was trying to avoid the “Hi my name is” intro but it didn’t turn out how I hoped.

I’m the newest addition to the StringCan Interactive team – and super excited to be here by the way. I have 12 years of Advertising/Marketing experience, 4 of them being in digital. I have a deep passion for building relationships and my clients. I know that sounds cheesy, but it’s true. I love helping to grow my client’s business. When all the little girls wanted to be princesses and – well let’s face it, Rainbow Brite when they grew up, I wanted to be an Advertising Executive.

I’m married to the most amazing man on the planet and I have two wonderful dogs that we love and spoil like little children.

How would you describe your personality in 5 words or less?

Flashy, strong and spontaneous, but also methodical and dedicated.

What could we find you doing outside of the office? What are your passions?

My husband plays guitar and I sing, it’s something we’ve been doing together for the past 11 years. Just for fun though, you won't see me auditioning for The Voice or anything.

Please explain your vision board below and what it means to you.

My Vision/Dream board is all about work life balance, personal and career growth. In 3 years I hope to have accomplished many of my personal and career goals that I’ve set for myself, all while keeping a good work/life balance.

Fun:

If you were a dinner entrée, what would you be and where would you be served?

I would be a National Coney Island Hani with a side of cheese fries. If you’re not from Michigan I’ll pause while you look that up... I would be served in a Smith and Wollensky because I’m classy.

If you could travel to see any event/person in the history of time, where would you go and why?

Hands down I would go to Woodstock. I’m positive that in my past life I was a 60’s hippie.

We just built the world’s most powerful super-computer…what are you going to use it for?

First, I want to go on record that super computers are not energy efficient so I would have fought that decision tooth and nail. However, if we did build one I would want it to be able to quickly process cancer research and spit out a cure (yes, “spit” is the technical term).

If you could get yourself anything, what would you get?

A money tree!

What’s your favorite YouTube video?

It’s a toss up between Marcel The Shell I and II. Since they’re in a series I’ll say both.

Business:

On a serious note, what are you most looking forward to learning from StringCan?

On a serious note? Everything. I’ve only been here a few days and I can already tell that our team has endless knowledge in all different spaces. Call me a sponge, I’m ready to soak it all in.

What will clients enjoy most about working with you?

I’m a straight shooter, they know they can trust me when I recommend something for their business.

What do results mean to you?

If a tree falls in the woods…as Marketers we’re nothing without results. A promotion or campaign can be fun and flashy, but if we’re not speaking to the right audience or to enough of them it doesn’t matter.

What is your proudest accomplishment and why?

Working full time during the day while I completed my bachelor’s degree at night, it was a huge struggle but really helped me develop my work ethic.
