The Perks of Google Places for Small Businesses

Our Digital Scientists are made up of tech-loving, results-oriented, passionate, digital marketing nerds who have an unnatural obsession with all things digital. Most likely seen glued to a screen and spewing new digital marketing trends.

Raise your hand if you use Google to find the location of a business! Who doesn’t? It’s quick and easy and provides you with an endless list of businesses around your location that either include the one you’re looking for or others that are similar. Now put yourself in the shoes of someone that owns a small local business, and if this is you, take a listen; there’s only so much you could do with the SEO and advertisements, right? What are your other options?

Google Places is the answer.

It’s a proven fact that the first place people turn to to find a business is the Internet. With Google being a search engine that many small businesses lean on in order to get their business out there and generate as much traffic as possible, Google Places would be a vital tool because it provides an immense amount of potential growth for your business at no cost.

You want to make sure that your business can be found without any struggle for the potential client and Google Places can do that for you, they don’t have to sit at their computer and try and figure out which business is the right one, they can type the name in and your business will be the first pop up. And there are benefits of this feature that go beyond just the client finding your business listing.

One of the most important features of Google Places is that you get to choose how you want your business to be described, and how you describe it on Google Places helps adjust the way it is portrayed on the listings when it is found using the normal Google search box. After you perform a few adjustments on the descriptions, your business is on Google the way you want it to be, with the correct information.

Once you have created the listing for your business, it’s simple and easy to keep up and manage; you can edit and revise it any time that you want, along with being able to see who is searching for you and looking at your listing.

You can spice up your listing with pictures and videos, and add some miscellaneous items that you may otherwise not be on your website, like whether your business has parking or if you are offering deals on a service.

And finally, as mentioned before, your agency has the potential to grow even more with a feature that costs nothing and will only increase your business.

So give Google Places a try! There’s nothing you can lose and everything to gain; an overall better business.
